Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Simple Fitness ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. We built Simple Fitness to be private by design: your data stays on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud.
Information we access
- Health & fitness data you choose to track — workouts, sets, body weight and measurements, nutrition/food logs, water, and goals.
- Apple Health (HealthKit), only with your explicit permission, to read and/or write metrics such as weight, body measurements, workouts, nutrition, heart rate, steps, active energy, and sleep. You control this in the app and in Settings > Health.
- Food database lookups: when you search foods, your search terms are sent to public nutrition databases (Open Food Facts and the USDA FoodData Central) to return results. These requests do not include your identity or account.
How your data is stored
Your data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, it is synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit so it's available across your devices. We do not operate our own servers that store your personal data, and we cannot see your data.
We do not sell or share your data
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs to profile you.
Third-party services
- Apple HealthKit & iCloud — Apple frameworks, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Health data is never used for advertising.
- Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central — queried only for food/nutrition search results.
Your control
You can view, edit, and delete your data at any time inside the app. Deleting the app removes its on-device data; data you synced to iCloud can be removed from your iCloud settings. Health permissions can be changed any time in the Apple Health app.
Children's privacy
Simple Fitness is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will appear on this page with a new "updated" date.
